A magnetic pulley with ferrite magnets is a type of magnetic separator that plays a dual role in conveyor systems. Primarily, it functions as the drive pulley at the end of a conveyor belt, but with the added feature of continuous magnetic separation.
Magnetic pulley has magnetic field over its entire circumference and is therefore appropriate for usage as a conveyor belt drive pulley. It provides excellent results when transporting flowing materials. Its use is especially recommended in situations where the transport speed is small and the layer of material on the belt is thin.
As material on the conveyor belt passes over the pulley, ferrous metal contaminants are attracted to the magnetic surface. They are held against the pulley until they are carried out of the magnetic field and released, usually into a separate collection area.
They require minimal maintenance, are easy to integrate into the existing conveyor systems and have a long-life cycle.
Magnetic pulleys are used in a variety of applications, including mining operations, bulk material handling, recycling and in the processing of grains, plastics …
Types of magnetic pulleys:
1. magnetic pulley with ferrite magnets
magnetic pulleys with ferrite magnets are durable, resistant to demagnetization and cost effective.
2.magnetic pulley with neodymium magnets
Neodymium magnets are much stronger than ferrite magnets and are capable of attracting smaller and finer ferrous particles from the greater distance than ferrite magnetic pulleys.
