Overbelt electromagnetic separators are used above the conveyor systems. They are appropriate mostly for discharging large ferromagnetic impurities from materials such as coal, stone and wood.
Overbelt electromagnetic separators require direct electrical current to function (it is provided by an electro cabinet). The cabinet contains controllers adapted to technological process and user’s requirements. Main advantage of electromagnets beside their strength and robustness is the ability to switch them on and off and the possibility of setting the strength of the magnetic field. The implementation where the metal detector controls the separator is also interesting.
